I always wanted to take relatively inflexible and unyielding metal, and pair it with the most pliable material: glass. The result has been my Copper Baskets. The wire serves as a binding force, much like gravity in the universe.

Not as conventionally beautiful as some of Simpson's works, they are organic in appearance, suggesting ancient vessels whose purpose can now scarcely be determined.
